Marisa & Josh, The White Room, St. Augustine, Florida

Marisa 6

This time last year, we were packing up and heading to St. Augustine to kick off a weekend of celebrations for Marisa & Josh. Marisa and Josh grew to know one another and fell in love through daily e-mails when Josh was away on a 7 month deployment. Josh reached out to Marisa just days before he deployed in hopes she would return his e-mail and much to surprise, she did and they have not looked back since! Not only is this weekend their one year anniversary, but it is also Veterans Day, a day where our country honors our military veterans. As we celebrate the one year anniversary of this special couple, we also would like to say THANK YOU.  Josh, thank you for the sacrifices you have made to serve and protect our country and Marisa, thank you for the unconditional support you have given Josh during his service.

Marisa had Josh’s name tag from his Navy uniform sewn into her wedding dress, giving her dress even more meaning.  Marisa & Josh were married under the most beautiful birch Chuppah, designed by, Bonnie of Ruby Reds Floral.Following the ceremony, which was held in Villa Blanca of The White Room, guests were invited into the main ballroom for an evening of celebration!

Wedding Wednesday: Becky & Jonathan, Amelia Island, Florida

Becky & Jonathan were two of the most intentional people I have ever had the pleasure of working along side. They carefully selected each detail so that their love story would be on display.

Becky and her beautiful maids spent the morning at the Omni, Amelia Island as they had their hair and make up perfected by the talented ladies of Studio Bride.

Becky & Jonathan shared in a “First Look” prior to the ceremony on property of the Omni, Amelia Island. The following breath taking photographs were captured prior to the ceremony before heading to Walker’s Landing.

Many meaningful traditions were woven through the day of celebration. Prior to the ceremony, Becky and Jonathan, surrounded by their closest family as their witnesses, participated in the Ketubah signing, a Jewish marriage contract. The couple chose words that represented their commitment to each other and were displayed on their custom-made Ketubah.

Becky and Jonathan also followed the Jewish wedding tradition of being married under the Chuppah. The Chuppah represented their first home as a married couple, open on all sides to welcome their community. They were joined under the Chuppah by their siblings and cousin. They stood under the same Chuppah that the grooms parents and grandparents were married under. The ceremony concluded  in the tradition of the  “Breaking of the glass,” symbolizing the finality of the marital covenant. This tradition serves as a reminder that even in the moment of unity, many parts of the world remain broken and that as they commit to one another, they also commit to building a more equitable and just world for all.

After the ceremony, the couple welcomed their guests on to the deck of Walker’s Landing, over looking the marsh for signature cocktails;  “The Handsome Hasak” & “The Beautiful Becky” and Hors D’oeuvre’s that included a custom designed Oyster and Prosecco bar.

Following Cocktail hour the guests were invited inside for dinner and an evening of dancing. The guests tables displayed organic, free form blooms designed by Chandler, of Marble + Pine and were accented with gold mercury votives and custom gold frames that displayed ombre water color table numbers designed by Heather O’Brien Design. A mix of etched glass and pink toned glasses accented the rustic head farm table.

Following dinner guests joined the couple on the dance floor for an evening of dancing! Excitement, laughter, and celebration permeated Walker’s Landing. It was a a memorable evening that Simply Grace Events will soon not forget. Thank you Becky & Jonathan for inviting us into your beautiful love story.

Pace’s First Birthday

This past May we celebrated our baby girl, Pace’s first birthday with a southwestern themed party! We invited close friends and family to join us for an afternoon of Tacos and cupcakes! As guests arrived they placed their gifts inside a floral and ribbon accented tee pee that took the place of a traditional gift table.

Outside, a craft table was set up for the kids to personalize their own planters and to choose their favorite cactus to plant and take home with them as a party favor.

A gold high chair accented with beautiful blooms designed by the ladies of Liz Stewart Floral Design may just have been my favorite decor detail of the day and the perfect place for baby girl to have her very first taste of sugar.

The dessert table was set with our favorite treats from local bakeries. AlleyCakes created succulent cupcakes and the sweetest smash cake there ever was. Cactus sugar cookies were the perfect touch from Cinotti’s Bakery. Gnarled vines, fresh cut succulents and lose blooms accented the tasty desserts. Above the dessert table hung a faux bison head with a floral crown. The backdrop for our bison was the perfect cactus wall paper found from ThinkNoirWallpaper’s etsys shop!

Our family bulletin board displayed some of our favorite pictures of Pace through out our first year with her.

It was such a sweet afternoon surrounded by friends and family celebrating our girl and what feels like the fastest year of our lives!
